Stathis Tsemberlidis is a visual artist based in Copenhagen. He is the co founder of the micro publisher and collective ’Decadence Comics’ and co- edits together with Lando the sci-fi comic anthology ‘Decadence’.
Throughout the medium of comics, video and animation Stathis Tsemberlidis explores the boundaries between linear and non-linear storytelling. In his work he merges the scientific with the mystical and the rational with the improbable. His comic stories usually depict characters that are undergoing through physical and mental transformations as they explore and interact with their surrounding realities. In his recent work he investigates various aspects of live performance in connection to film making and live broadcasting. His influences range from sci-fi literature and film to philosophy, religion and science.
Together with the Decadence Comics Collective, he has taken part in numerous art exhibitions and events such as The Danish Graphics House, Copenhagen, DK (2020), Møllebyen Litteraturfestival, Moss, NO (2017), Kassandras Art Space, Athens, GR (2017), Mould Map 6 Terraformers, Bonington Gallery, Nottingham, UK (2016), X and Beyond, Copenhagen, DK (2016).

Stathis Tsemberlidis has collaborated with various writers drawing comic titles published by Image Comics, US, as well as contributing stories to various anthology titles created by other independent publishers such as Landfill Editions, UK and Lagon Revue, FR. The publisher Breakdown Press, UK has published a collection of some his short stories called Picnoleptic Inertia. His books are distributed in a number of independent shops and distros around the world including Desert Island in Brooklyn, NY, US and Fantagraphics Books, Seattle, US.
